On Saturday, Dec 5, Da Capo Virginia will sponsor a Children and Youth Mass Choral Festival under the direction of Tracee Prillaman merging area musical ensembles in song!

NOVEMBER is our INVITE a FRIEND month with open rehearsals as we prepare for the Festival. Perfect for those who are looking to test drive the Da Capo Way! and have a great time singing with Cantare and Animato.

The event will be hosted in the beautiful sanctuary of Huguenot Road Baptist Church and will feature over one hundred students grades 3 – 8 as well as faculty and guests of Da Capo Va. The young musicians will join forces to make music together, make friends, and enrich their community through the gift of music. This community event is FREE! Da Capo Va’s choral ensembles, Animato, Cantare, and Prima Volta will anchor this mass choir.

Da Capo’s Fall 2009 session curriculum will focus its instruction on the role of music in the church presenting a perfect foundation for this unique event in addition to our normal community concerts and events. The mass choral festival is a direct outgrowth of this instructional lens, as well as our intentional focus on building musical communities with interactions between students as well as musical organizations. As you can see, we are very excited.

If you would like to participate, or have your children's choir participate, please CONTACT US.

Repertoire will include:

Hush My Babe

The audience will also participate in the concert through a traditional carol sing. Additionally, Da Capo faculty will augment the program with holiday highlights on flute, piano, cello, and voice. We at Da Capo Va are certain that this concert event will contribute significantly to your Christmas season musical experiences.
